If you’ve ever thought of getting in between a turtle and the object of his affection, don’t:
From this point forward, I hereby resolve to only walk barefoot.

While I’m not religious, I definitely believe in serendipity. For instance, just a few days after I happened to catch Henry Poole Is Here, I came across this hilarious montage of “I-seen-Jesus-in-my-waffle” (or Cheeto, soup spoon, sonagram, etc) stories, culled from local news telecasts from across the country.
How serendipitous! As opposed to some folks, who look at a t-shirt crumpled in the corner of their room and see the face of a 2000 year-old hippie carpenter. Because that’s not serendipity – that’s a miracle, friend!

Huzzah, Windows users! Someone has finally figured out a way to make your crappy Vista machine actually perform operations at the speed of a computer rather than, say, a constipated glacier. It turns out the trick is you just need to daisy-chain 24 solid-state drives together. So practical! So cheap! Ahem.
While I poke fun, I must admit it’s freaking wicked to watch a PC open every element of Microsoft Office simultaneously launch and open within half a second. On the other hand, this might be the first time I’ve ever seen most of those Office applications, since generally launching them takes so long I usually just get bored and walk away looking for something shiny.

I’m sorry, I’ll have to cook up something more erudite to say about this video later, after I stop giggling like a thirteen year-old:
Oh wait, that’s right – I probably won’t stop giggling like a thirteen year-old.

It must be incredibly tough being a screenwriter these days. I mean, if you’re not tasked with systematically destroying the fabric of our popular culture or fruitlessly tilting at the windmills of nerd-dom, you’re stuck writing another frat-guys-murder-sorority-girls-on-a-yacht script. So one might be inclined to forgive writers Oliver Blackburn and David Bloom for their conceit as they grasped at straws for a clever way to deliver the coup de grĂ¢ce in their little movie, Donkey Punch. Yep, you read that right – “Donkey Punch”, as in the world’s most odious sex act. Oy vey:
Seriously? Seriously! Is this what we’ve come to as a society, that screenwriters look to the Urban Dictionary for ideas? Great Caeser’s ghost. Man, sudddenly that live-action “Smurfs” movie doesn’t seem like such a bad idea anymore…

I think we all can appreciate clever and/or edgy marketing campaigns to some degree, but everything has a limit. To wit, I give you this public service announcement from Australia, where apparently everyone loves a good incest joke:
Zing! Man, I can’t wait to see what hilarious shenanigans the Aussies whip up to warn us about the horrors female genital mutilation or face-punching the elderly.
