Jonny Mnemonic

Jonathan Coulton

I’ll admit it it – I’ve got a fair amount of envy for musician Jonathan Coulton.  And why not?  Dude is living the dream: he’s a former programmer who’s managed to cultivate a new career for himself singing smart, harmless pop songs for geeks like me.  Plus, the guy is buddies with John Hodgman and sings a wicked cover of Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back“.  My latest reason to gush over Jonny C, though, is “Washy Ad Jeffy“, his adorable, nerdy, musical mnemonic device for remembering all of the American presidents’ names in order.

It makes me wonder: if Coulton had been around when I was in high school, might I have actually made it through calculus?
