Silent But Deadly

Das Hindenburg Go Boom! Each year during the Yuletide, saccharine and WASPy families everywhere (I’m told) gather together around the hearth and read Twas The Night Before Christmas or perhaps a couple of selected, hot-shit Bible passages. However, I’ve decided that from here on out, this touching story of a man and his blimp will be the fable I read to my kids each year during the holidays. I mean, really, it’s got everything: comedy, airships, violence and even marital strife, all wrapped up with a hilarious little bow of a cautionary tale. Pure genius, and needless to say, I desperately want one.

Incidentally, I came across this story after first checking out the same author’s recent description of self-waterboarding, which itself is quite a read, although considerably darker, and utterly lacking in zeppelins.
